Admin tools, saves the entry, but when I go to the new redirect url, it gives error=404 and it does not redirect at all, when entering the "old url"

I have both redirected the "original joomla url" and the "Joomla URL Rewriting" nothing, gives any redirection to the new short URL....

what the "heck" is wrong..??

Do you need admin access to the site, let me know..

There are two issues.

First of all, you have mixed up the Existing URL and New URL. The existing URL is something which already exists and displays even if Admin Tools is not installed.

Moreover, the New URL must not include the protocol and domain name.

Assuming that you want the user to type http://YOURSITE/blog/rene-ritto and be redirected to http://YOURSITE/ritto you should use the following.

Existing URL: ritto
New URL: blog/rene-ritto

I also have tried this setting (see picture ) and it still don't work...!!

I have a blog installed, and all my bloggers, neto have an easy ending like:

teamyesplease.com/ritto
teamyesplease.com/thomas and so forth - how do I accomplish that..!!

kragh
Well, I got it "working" with this setting, but is it possible to show, the url: teamyesplease.com/ritto instead of the "existing'" url teamyesplease.com/blog/blogger/ritto.html

No, you cannot hide the actual URL. This is a URL redirection feature, not URL cloaking.

What you are looking for is not Admin Tools. It's creating a hidden menu in Joomla and menu items for each of your bloggers.
