This just says This site can't be reached

I know the password I just entered but what username should I use?

You have a couple of problems. The reason the link doesn't work is that you have example.com in your Global Settings screen (and configuration.php file). You can fix that after you get back in.

Use the instructions here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/atwafissues.html to disable Admin Tools. Then you will be able to log in and clear the block on your IP address. When you're finished, you will need to reverse the procedure to enable Admin Tools again.

I have tried all those options and am still blocked

The main.php that you renamed is cached. First, clear your browser cache. If that doesn't work, it has to be in another cache somewhere, probably at the host level. You can wait it out until the cache clears or ask your host how to clear it manually.

Also, make sure that main.php really is renamed. Once in a great while we run into permissions problems where the file can't be renamed.

My hosting company said I was blocked because I tried too many times. They fixed this and got me to disable the admin plugin in the database, so I’m back in.
