Hi,
I am writing because the support for another extension who might sit somewhere in india can't access my website. He says he gets an 404 error message. So a looked around in the WAF configuration and dedected this: see attached screenshots. Even though I disabled it, he can#t visit my sites frontend.
Could you please help me?
Moreover I am thinking about completly deactiviating admin tools. How can I do this in a simple way?
Thank you very much

Hello,

the option Enable 404 Shield is completely unrelated to this.
You are trying to access a subfolder of your site, this means that (if you have used the Htaccess Manager) you have to explicitly allow that folder.
Please get inside the Htaccess Manager page and add that folder to the field Allow direct access, including .php files, to these directories

To completely disable Admin Tools, you simply have to disable the system plugin and the replace your .htaccess file with Joomla default one. In this way Admin Tools is completely turned off.

Hi
no, unfortunatly this isn't the case. I didn't use any htaccess manager and if I'd follow your path, the website couldn't be reached from any user, nor from me, nor from you. But I guess you tried to visit the site and... ? Did you see it or not? I for example work from different parts of Europe (some weeks ago from Austria, now from somewhere else, another country) and it works.
I don't have any other htaccess than the default joomla htaccess.
So I will completely turn off Admin Tools and see if they can access the site.

Thank you anyway for your help. Ciao!

I am not allowed (as SuperAdmin) to disable the system plugin. So any further tips how I can disable Admin Tools?

Please get inside the Configure WAF page and set the option Protect against plugin deactivation to No.
