Hello,
I am having a problem with an administrator constanly being blocked from the backend of the website. It seems to occur when they try and edit an article.
I have added their IP to the exempt list and turned off Allow administrator access only to IPs in Whitelist.
This problem started occurring recently when we installed the test database onto the live site.
We made no changes to the htaccess file.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

My best guess is that the session is expiring and you're getting an admin query string error in the log.

You can extend the session lifetime in the Joomla Global Settings, that will reduce the occurrence of the error. You can also ask the user to save their work more often. That will refresh the session timer and prevent the session from expiring.
