I recently changed my ISP. As a result, I had to use PHPMyAdmin to change the IP address of my working computer. After changing the IP address, I could access the login page, but my login would not allow me access. I went to the installation page for my Joomla site, and reset the username and password to make sure it was correct. I still cannot gain access. What else needs to be changed in phpMyAdmin for me to gain access to my Joomla administration page?

Let's turn off Admin Tools with the instructions here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/atwafissues.html. That should allow you to log in and the Security Exceptions Log should tell us why you can't log in.

If your site used the extra user ID and password to access the /administrator folder, then you need to delete the .htaccess file in the /administrator folder - NOT the root folder. That password protection is sensitive to the version of Apache that it is installed on, which can cause problems when you move to another server. You can re-establish the password from the Admin Tools menu.
