I have a user account issue. Users (both were super users) are being "blocked" upon login, even though the "auto-ban repeat offenders" setting are OFF?

I've seen this on 2 sites... I'm not sure what Admin Tools setting would be doing this.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Is the problem with a front end login or a back end login?

What is the reason for the block in the Security Exceptions Log?

Hello Dale,

This is happening in the backend. The reason stated is: Admin Query String

Thanks again for the help.

Do you have the Secret URL Parameter set up and are they using it to log in?

Yes, they are using the secret URL. The user says that they can actually login... but, if they then click on any menu link, the system immediately blocks them???

Thanks again for any help you can give.

What you're describing sounds like a stale session record. When they log in, the stale record makes Joomla! think they are already timed out. That's not a normal error. Let's use the Purge Sessions option in Admin Tools to clean out that table. Note that it will force log out all current users. You may want to do that over the weekend or during non peak hours to minimize the effect on your users.

That leads us to another problem. Davide is off today and Nicholas will log off about 5:00 PM GMT. At that point, there's nobody left to support me until Monday. The session table is my best answer but it is definitely outside the box.
