It seems as though I can do almost anything with Admin Tools if my ip is listed as a safe one. I can even avoid having to enter the Admin Tools password, which is a godsend.

I sometimes have to add a new user (usually temporarily for support purposes) and it is always frustrating to enter in all of the details only to find Admin Tools says I cannot do it.

One solution would be to disable this feature via my IP address. A second solution would be to error upon the creation of a new user which would reduce the frustration. Both may be good options.

Just food for thought, it's your product, I would find this feature useful, but that's because I manage many sites.

Hello,

security messages are "obscure" on purpose, to give attackers some hard times, so that's why you don't get much details when you're blocked.
Usually the WhiteList IP affects only WAF features, anyway I can see your point of view.
I'll discuss that with Nicholas and see if it's something we can do.

I don't mind it being obscure, but if it was as soon as I click on "new" when creating a user that would save me some time. I have no idea if everyone else makes the same mistake but on a dev site I usually switch this off which is not ideal because I could forget to switch it back on.

Admin Tools blocks the creation of Managers and above (ie users with "administrative" privileges). So we have to wait until you submit the form to check if it's a regular user or a power one.
Anyway I just added a task for this, it should be included in the next release.
