When saving and creating a htaccess, I do not see the file on my server...
It seems to behave like the new one I saved..

The .htaccess file would be in the root folder of your site. Keep in mind that under the Linux operating system, any file that begins with . is hidden. You may need to set your FTP client or cPanel file manager to show hidden files.
