Good day

When I get an email to notify me that an update for Joomla is available, the "sender" info needs to be changed on one of my clients sites and I cannot figure how to. You will see in the attache image the detail in yellow should rather be Forex Signals Daily. I need to remove the Shaun Sundstrom etc. I have checked in the Config area but there it is correct. Where does the email extract this info from?

The email is sent through Joomla's email API. The sender information used is what you have configured in your site's Global Configuration.

Please note that the name of the sender included in the email is just a hint for the mail user agent (a.k.a. MUA, the application which will display the email to the recipient). Some MUAs will ignore that and display the name you have stored in your address book -or one they believe is correct- based on the sender's email address. As far as I know this happens with GMail. When someone sends you an email and GMail has found a GMail / Google Apps account by that email address they will show you the contact card they have in file for that email address, NOT the sender name included in the email itself. Based on the screenshot, I understand that you do use GMail and that seems to be what is going on. Unfortunately we can not do anything about this.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I don't use Gmail at all, rather use Outlook.

I originally built the site for Shaun Sandstrom and then restored the site and reworked it for Forex Signals. The details in the Global Config are for Forex Signals. I have searched throughout the site and cannot see where else to change so that the Sender details will be correct. It cannot be taking the details from my address book as I don't have this client's details in my address book and the email address is mine so it should use my name then.

I can only tell you that Joomla! takes the sender information from the Global Configuration. I don't know where Outlook takes the information from. In either case, it's Joomla! (third party software) providing the information and sending the email and Outlook (third party software) displaying the email. I cannot help with third party software as I don't have any say on their source code.
