Hi, I received a Watchful notification this morning that an update was available. Unfortunately the update is failing on every site with this message:

x The update for this extension is currently not available

I logged into one site and ran it as a Joomla update and it works fine.

It has worked fine via Watchful on previous versions.

My download ID is entered in all installations and also in Watchful.

I've also logged a ticket with Watchful, as not sure which end the issue may be.

Any help would be appreciated.

Which means that you have proven that the problem is not on our side of providing updates :) We have not changed anything regarding the updates (yet). In the next version we'll move to full HTTPS for the entire update provisioning, including the update information XML. We do not foresee any issues. We've been trialing HTTPS on our CDN for 15 months to make sure that we have a robust process.

In any case, your current issue looks like something in Watchful.li. I'm pretty sure they'll look into it since you've already filed a support ticket with them.

May I kindly request that you give us an update when they reply back to you?

Hi, further update on this, Admin Tools Pro is still not updating in Watchful. (They have escalated it and are investigating). But now it is not updating via Joomla either. Today I logged into approximately 10 sites (on 3 different servers and 2 different web hosts) and tried to run the update manually. A couple updated successfully and on most of the others I got:

Error connecting to the server: 403
Error
Failed to download package. Download it and install manually from https://www.akeebabackup.com/component/ars/?view=Item&task=download&format=raw&id=4193&dummy=my.zip.

Many of these sites are in a reseller account on the same server with the same IP address - some updated, most threw this error message.

I've cleared the Joomla cache and also the Joomla Update cache on the affected sites and tried again but they will not install. I re-added the download ID from my subscription just to make sure. I've given up now and manually installed. But I don't think the issue is Watchful. I've successfully updated about 20 sites to Joomla 3.8.1 via Watchful today with no issues. I also updated Akeeba Backup Pro via Watchful a few weeks ago (13 September) with no issues like this.

The problem is not really resolved but I've gotten around it by manually installing Admin Tools Pro on 20 sites. So I guess you could close the ticket. It's something to be aware of though. I'll re-open this if it happens again next time.
