Admin tools should allow the ability to put in an IP in the administrator IP whitelist and it be allowed automatically even without enabling the “Allow administrator access only to IPs in Whitelist” option in the Configure WAF page.

The reasoning is that I get emails all the time with my own desktop computer IP :

We would like to notify you that a security exception was detected on your site, CLIENT WEBSITE NAME / TITLE , with the following details:

IP Address: 69.246.XXX.XXX (IP Lookup: IP Lookup)
Reason: Admin Query String

There should be no need to even check if I have 'manually' added my IP's to the Whitelist but still want to allow the ability for random IP's assigned when I travel with my laptop, tablet or phone, which could have a completely different IP. At the very least this would avoid getting a bunch of emails on multiple websites that I work on almost every day!

It is annoying! :(

Hello,

Admin tools should allow the ability to put in an IP in the administrator IP whitelist and it be allowed automatically even without enabling the “Allow administrator access only to IPs in Whitelist” option in the Configure WAF page.
The whitelist feature is a very powerful and dangerous tool: if your IP is in the whitelist, Admin Tools is completely turned off for you. This is a very secure feature, too, since only the IP in the whitelist will be allowed: all other users will be automatically bounced back to the homepage. In this way you can tight the security of your site.

However, if your aim is to simply avoid being blocked, you can put your IP inside the field Never block these IP in the WAF configuration page.

Davide,

Will that stop all these annoying email notifications? I don't want to stop notifications for others attempting to get in but I don't need to get notifications on my IP. I have over 70 websites and on a typical day, I get 7-15 of these notifications depending on how many sites I work on that day.

Yes, that will do the trick.

Davide,

Awesome, I will start setting that on all websites from now on! :)
