just making use of the free ssl cert my host is giving me.
are there any changes to make in admin tools or is it jsut in global settings of joomla admin area to change?

I want secure connection always on.

Hello,

you can always force SSL, using Joomla built-in feature.
Inside Joomla Global Configuration there's an option named Force SSL. Set it to Always and Joomla will always redirect to the HTTPS version of your site.
