My backend is showing symbols rather than the icons next to all names/fields throughout. I tried a few fixes, I reinstalled Admin Tools twice without pause, I installed the contents of media/jui/fonts (all files), I checked my htaccess was allowing access to that folder for both frontend and backend exceptions allowed. Nothing made any difference, except that when I delete my .htaccess file, the icons are correct (problem resolved), and when I remake the htaccess file, the symbols return. I have checked and rechecked my htaccess file to try to find what is the problem, I cannot work it out. Could you please have a look at the attached file, or my website, and advise a fix please. Attached also is image showing the wonky symbols. Thankyou.

The Joomla! icon fonts have extensions .svg, .eot, .ttf and .woff. I can see that they are already included in your exceptions in the .htaccess file. When I try to access one of these files directly, e.g. http://www.XXXXX.com.au/media/jui/fonts/IcoMoon.woff they load up just fine (I have intentionally replaced the domain with XXXXX - I can see the actual domain in the .htaccess file you uploaded). I do not see any reason why these files would not be served to the browser.

Are you absolutely sure that the fonts are NOT loaded by the browser? Have you checked with your browser's developer tools? What is the HTTP code reported for these requests? What is the URL for the request to the icon file? I am wondering if we are trying to solve the correct issue or if the problem is something else, e.g. a custom CSS file not being loaded from somewhere else.

Thankyou Nicholas. I checked in Chrome again, no icons. Checked using Firefox, icons are correct and appears no problem. I'm usually working in Chrome and I deleted browsing data, cleared the cache must have done that 10 times. However, I've now quit and re-opened Chrome and now the icons are present. Perhaps one of the earlier tweaks I did sorted out the problem (double instal of the component?) and the cache was the culprit. So, thankyou for your help and I apologise for wasting your time.
