 I get this error when trying to access the admin area

Call to undefined method FOF30\Platform\Joomla\Platform::redirect()

which means I cant access any area of my site - and hence can not reinstall the fof-library.

How do I do that manually throug ftp.

When I download and open the zip-filed fof-library, there is no fof30-folder only an fof-folder.

You're on the right track! Just upload the contents of the fof folder in the zip archive to /libraries/fof30, replacing the files already there.

There is a LONG history of why the folders are named that way but you don't want to know, trust me.
