 Hi

Yesterday I installed Admin Tools professional on a new website and now when I log into my sites /administrator page I am presented with my website and not the Joomla admin panel

Please advise if there is another route to the Joomla panel?

Thanks

Willy

Hello,

I guess you ran the quickstart, after the installation, am I right?
The quickstart will enable the feature Administrator secret URL parameter. Please manually disable Admin Tools system plugin, get inside the WAF Configuration page and note down the secret param or remove it to disable this feature.

Hi

Sorted the main issue as I had kept a note of the system generated secret code ... more by luck than judgement!

Now that I have access using the secret parameter in the form ...../administrator?secret - I receive a "Security exception" email with the explanation "Reason: Admin Query String" whenever I log on.

Please advise how I can stop this happening!!

Thanks

Willy

This usually happens when your browser tries to fetch the screenshot of the site you are visiting, so it can offer you a "quick link" to the most visited ones.
Can you please try in incognito mode? Do you still get the same email?

When I went incognito I was asked for a user name and password before the Joomla page opened but neither the Joomla or Admin Tools passwords worked - so I have removed the secret parameter rather than get locked out again!

Assuming I made a mistake in typing these in which user / password combination should I be using?

Thanks

Willy

I think you setup the feature Protect your administrator back-end with a password. You can disable it by following the instructions in this page.
Moreover, disable the system plugin as stated before and remove the secret param.

I think you enabled "too many things" without paying attention. I'd suggest you to disable everything and enable them one by one, so you can review their behaviour.

HI Davide

I think it will be simplest if I uninstall Admin Tools and then reinstall and follow the step by step set up (which is what I did the first time I used Admin Tools) rather than using the "quickstart"

That will be tomorrow's task

Cheers
