Actually, the recommended method is installing the Core edition over Pro. This will remove the Pro files. Nothing breaks, as long as the Core edition you install is the same or newer version in the same version family. That is to say, if you have Admin Tools Professional 4.0.1 you can install Admin Tools Core 4.0.1 or 4.0.2 but NOT a 1.x, 2.x, 3.x or 4.1.x version.
Alternatively, you can simply uninstall Admin Tools Professional and then install Admin Tools Core. Just remember to export your settings before uninstalling for future reference. You don't need to import them after installing Core since the Core version doesn't have any security related features to begin with.
