 Hi,

Last week I had our site migrated from a shared apache server to a dedicated NGINX server. The .htaccess created by Admintools breaks the template which is solved when I place the original joomla .htacces. In admintools I still see that admintools sees this as a apache server.

Do I have to follow the instructions on https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/admin-tools/nginx-maker.html in order to let Admintools recognize the servertype or do I have to reinstall admintools first?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Maico Boumans

Hello,

Admin Tools inspects the PHP variable $_SERVER['SERVER_SOFTWARE']. If it contains the string NGINX, it will be recognised as NginX running on your server.
Can you please get inside Joomla System Information and take a look at the Web Server field? What's its value?

Hi,

It says Apache indeed. Can I adjust or is this something the hoster has to do?

This means that your server is Apache, not NginX.
Admin Tools will work fine with Apache, however you should get in touch with your host if you thought you were on NginX.
Let me know if you need further assistance on your .htaccess file, we can take a look at it and try to find the option that is causing issues.

Hi Davide,

I WAS on an apache server with a working admintools htaccess. But changed to NGINX (according to my hoster) and then the .htaccess broke the template. I asked the hosting company to clarify this server issue.

It seems pretty strange: if you were on NginX, the .htaccess file should be ignore. For the nginx server it's just like another file, like the index.php or licence.txt

Please get in touch with your host, he certainly knows what's going on.
