I have recently upgraded PHP to be 7.0.10, which is what is used if I run a demand scan from within the Joomla admin panel. This runs to completion and produces a report. However, there is also a cron job that crashes. The cron job uses PHP 5.6.20, and sent the email attached. I am in the process of finding out if the cron job can use the same version of PHP as the live site, but meanwhile any thoughts?

Hello,

it seems that Joomla can't connect to your database instance.
Which driver are you using inside your Joomla Control Panel? Mysql or Mysqli?
If you are using one of them, can you please try to use the other one?
I suspect your host didn't compile your PHP version with the database driver you are using, let's try to use the other one, otherwise you'll have to ask your host to include the driver inside your PHP CLI executable

Hi Davide,
The Joomla control panel is using Mysqli, and when I run admin tools from there, everything works. The only other option I can select is MySQL (PDO). Do you want me to switch to that?

Actually, the problem has just been solved. My host has just replied showing me how to use PHP 7 with the cron job, and it worked properly.

Thanks for taking the time to reply so promptly.
