After Installing Admin Tools 4.0.0 the Configure WAF Page no longer opens correctly in Internet Explorer 11.
The "The recommended setting for your site is:" hangs at (please wait;thinking) and Tabs for other configuration areas missing.
I opened same page in Chrome and everything working OK.
To double check I opened another site in IE 11 using Admin Tools 3.8.6. Configure WAF Working OK. Upgraded to Admin Tools 4.0.0. Configure WAF Page broken.

That's strange because all the HTML and CSS is there... Actually, we are using Joomla's Bootstrap 2 classes. Nothing fancy or custom. I believe that might be an issue with a third party plugin or a third party back-end template doing something strange which confuses IE11, a notoriously badly written browser that Microsoft essentially threw away and rewrite from scratch. I'm afraid there's nothing much we can do about it :(

The sites are using the standard isis backend template and don't appear to have any administrator plugins installed.

The Admin Tools 4.0.0 Configure WAF page works fine in Microsoft Edge, Chrome and FireFox.

Admin Tools 3.8.6 worked fine in IE - something changed in the Upgrade to 4.0.0 that IE doesn't like. Trying Compatibility mode or changing the IE emulation in F12 developer Tools made no difference.

Installing Admin Tools 4.0.0 on a Joomla 3.4.3 site. The Configure WAF page worked as expected in IE11.

Installing Admin Tools 4.0.0 on a Joomla 3.5.1 site. The Configure WAF page doesn't work in IE11.

Seems to be compatibility issue with Joomla 3.5.1 and above and IE.

I won't have access to a Windows computer for the next month. That said, the HTML and Javascript didn't change between 3.8 and 4.0 at all. And since it only affects specific versions of Joomla and has only been reported by you I would guess that this is a very localised issue. It could be caused by something else running on your computer, from a random browser extension to an Internet security application (AVG is notorious for injecting Javascript in the loaded pages and screwing up sites).

Some how I doubt it is a "very localised issue". I have been building Joomla websites for many years and always incorporate Admin Tools as part of a best practice for security. To test wether its just my desktop/antivirus (Windows 10/Norton) I've tested the page on a number of remote desktops around Australia with the same results.
I noticed the issue after receiving 2,500 emails during a bot attack on a website (the kind that changes its IP address every 3 attempts) and needed to turn off the notification for banned IP addresses.
The temporary work around for anyone else with the same WAF Configuration page rendering issue is to use a different browser.
Perhaps it's not a big issue as I note that IE usage is down to 6% of total browser usage ( was 60% ten years ago)

Anyway - I've reported an issue with my favourite Joomla security tool and will leave at that - maybe its time I changed from IE was well :)

I wanted to be 100% sure so I downloaded the official Microsoft Windows 7 / IE 11 virtual machine instance from Microsoft's Developer Technologies site. I then used a freshly installed Joomla! 3.6.0 site running on PHP 5.6.10 where I installed Admin Tools 4.0.0 stable.

It appears that IE11 does not support a Javascript construct that's existed for the better part of a decade. This piece of Javascript code has been present in Admin Tools 3.8.6 as well and I do receive the same error there too. I am not sure why Admin Tools 3.8.6 works on IE11 on your site because it really shouldn't.

I guess nobody reported it this far because IE11 is an end of life browser. I recommend using a modern browser like Edge, Chrome, Firefox, or Opera.
