Today I've changed ISP.
Now, when I try to connect to the backend and a request appears asking for the administrative password, I return to the frontend.
I deleted in administrator folders .htaccess and htpasswd, connected to backend and inserted a new credentials, but still I return to the frontend with login.
This also is a new browser with cache clean.

So, I can connect to the backend, but always without activating the administrative password.

I do not know if the two things are connected, but during the restore there was an anomaly.
I copied the file created with Akeeba Backup; I started kickstart and the process continued without error, but did not end and stayed with the message (in Italian):
Finalizza il ripristino
Aggiornamento .htaccess

I repeated the process several times, obviously erasing first the DB and files, but always getting the same result.
I solved it by removing the installation folder and renaming htacces.bak and php.ini.bak.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The problem you had with the restore is a known issue with the Akeeba Backup 5.0.x series. It is fixed in version 5.1.0 which was released earlier today.

I think your login problem is caused by Admin Tools' secret login parameter. You need to disable Admin Tools with the instructions here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/atwafissues.html. That will allow you to log in. Then you can check the first tab in Configure WAF and see the secret parameter. You can use that or clear it.

Maybe I have not explained well.
Now, I am unable to connect to the backend ending the URL with ?MyPass

The problem is with the administrative password.
If I insert user and password again, then I can not connect until I remove htacces and htpassw in the administrative folder.

I'm sorry!
There is an error in my reply.
The right answer is:
Now, I am able to connect to the backend ending the URL with ?MyPass

The problem is with the administrative password.
If I insert user and password again, then I can not connect until I remove htacces and htpassw in the administrative folder.

There are so many possibilities in protecting the admin login it is sometimes hard to figure out exactly which one is being overprotective.

The .htaccess and .htpasswd files that create that pop up password box are sensitive to the version of Apache. They can also be location sensitive so the path to the root of the server can affect it. You need to generate new password protection files from within Admin Tools. That feature works on most Apache servers, but not all. Your new server may be one that does not allow password protection of an individual folder.

Another possibility is that many hosts cache .htaccess files. It may take up to an hour for the cache to clear after you create the files.

The new ISP told me that a protection like the "Administrative Password" in Admin Tools is configurable by cPanel.
So, I close the ticket.

Many thanks.
