I am changing the URL of my site with joomla toolkit in cpanel. I am not moving the site files to a different folder or host.
The url switch works fine, I see the site with the new URL, but I can not gain access to the backend after i make the change.
I have tried erasing the .htaccess file prior to the change in URLs, I have tried changing some other settings in admin tools but there are too many settings.
Do you have a list of setting that need to be set, or turned off prior to switching URL's?

The only URL-specific setting in Admin Tools is in .htaccess Maker. As long as you have removed the .htaccess file from your site's root before the change the problem is unrelated to Admin Tools. Please ask SiteGround for cPanel support.

However, there is a simpler, faster and far more reliable way to do what you are trying to do.

You can use our free of charge Akeeba Backup Core to backup your site and restore it to the other location. There's a reason we have several dozen millions of downloads for Akeeba Backup Core: it works reliably for moving your site. In fact the original reason it was written was to help me move sites fast between hosts or between locations in the same host. Backing up is just a sub-case of moving a site where the source and the target are the same.
