Had to restore a joomla site on a fresh server (old one damaged).
Site was backed up with akeeba backup 4.5.1 pro.
Restore worked out fine with ANGIE. I have full access to frontend.

But I have no access to administrator backend. I call it with adminstrator secret URL, but I get an "internal server error".
So I tried all troubleshooter suggestions above. Browser cache deleted. Renamed .htacces aso, checked configuration.php.
Tried to change plugins/system/admintools/main.php.
But this file is in my installation at plugins/system/admintools/admintools/main.php.
Changed it, no access, same error.

What can I do to get backend access?

Thank you
Chris

Chris,

I think maybe you had the /administrator folder password protected on your original site. Those passwords do not travel well. Look for an .htaccess file in the /administrator folder (NOT the root folder), if you find one, rename it and see if that fixes the problem.

Sometimes renaming main.php does not work right away because the file is cached and the site is running from the cache and can't see the change on the disk. Try purging your browser and site caches.

Changed .htaccess file in the /administrator folder now and could login in backend.
After calling administration site of akeeba admin there popped up some errors about missing files.
I updated akeeba admin to newest version.
Now all is working fine in backend and frontend.

Thank you for your quick support.
