Phivos
 Hi there,

I read all the EasyBlog troubleshoot articles included in your forums and followed 1-2 advices given in them, but I could not find a solution to my problem.

EasyBlog is not functioning after the installation of Admin Tools. So I had to include the component in WAF exceptions and in .htaccess maker in "Allow direct access, including .php files, to these directories". But again the problem persists. Any ideas?

In addition, we face a minor issue with soccerbet component but let's first deal with this one.

Hello Phivos,

most likely you saved the wrong path inside Htaccess Maker exception, please take a look at our manual for further info on how determine which exception are required.

Dear Tampe,

Thanks for the prompt response. I managed to solve another issue with that article but the issue with EasyBlog remains. The 404 error I get is from the path "media/com_easyblog/scripts/site-5.0.31.optimized.min.js".

I put both the following paths "media/com_easyblog/scripts" and "media/com_easyblog" in the allowed directories including .php files but nothing changed. Any ideas?

The media folder is not blocked, since that's the correct place where js should be placed.
Can you please double check if that file really exists? Admin Tools would raise a 403 error when a request is blocked, not a 404 one

Dear Tampe,

I have checked and the file exists.

The problem lies with the whole EasyBlog component. The articles of the component are not displayed correctly and the editor does not open in the pop up window as it should. The only error we get from the console is that one: media/com_easyblog/scripts/site-5.0.31.optimized.min.js

Does it play any role the fact that we have a CDN enabled?

Or that the editor is in a pop window? I mean is there any option for that in the back end that I missed?

Before continuing let's double check if the problem is really caused by Admin Tools.
Please disable the System - Admin Tools plugin and replace your .htaccess file with Joomla default.
Do you still have the reported issues?

Dear Tampe,

Thanks for the prompt response. We followed your steps and the issue was there after we disabled admin tools. But we are sure that this was functioning before the installation of admin tools.

So we restored the site again and the component is functioning correctly, and so we reinstalled admin tools from the beginning. This time the problem did not appear. We do not know what went bad before and we cannot explain it.

We will run some more tests and if we need anything we will come back to you.

Phivos
Dear Tampe,

Ok we have run some initial tests. The problem we traced once again lies with EasyBlog. Once the user creates a blog an email is generated by the component informing the administrator of the new blog. And once the new blog is approved an email is generated in order to inform the user that the blog has been approved. After the installation of admin tools this functionality has been lost. How I will trace the issue?

Phivos
Dear Tampe,

This morning we have run some more tests and the emails are generated normally. We cannot explain this instability of the system.

Is there a possibility admin tools to have a conflict with the component? We did not have such issue in the past with EasyBlog.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your time.

As you can see, the problem is not related with our software: when you restored a previous backup without Admin Tools, you had the same issue.
Admin Tools does not interfere with component execution: it simply scans and blocks suspicious requests, that you can review in the Security Exception page. If that page is empty or you disable the System - Admin Tools plugin, you are effectively turning off the whole Admin Tools component.

Dear Tampe,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Just for reference. In case we want to disable admin tools in order to check if a problem is generated from a conflict with admin tools, we have to disable the "admin tools" plugin AND replace the .htaccess file with the original one? Or just disable the plugin and the admin tools goes off?

Disable the plugin and replace the .htaccess file.
In this way Admin Tools is completely turned off
