The Hide/customize generator meta tag setting seems to have no effect. All my pages still say the default <meta name="generator" content="Joomla! - Open Source Content Management" />

That feature is working fine on the site I tested it on. When I set the "hide" field and left the Generator tag field blank, the source code showed "MYOB". When I used "HAL9000" as the Generator tag, that's what it displayed.
Watch out for caches here. Either the browser cache could hold "Joomla!" or a site-level code cache could hold it. Either clear your caches or wait until they expire. I think that is the problem.

It's also not changing the email address for security exception reports, although it does reflect the change in the settings, I'm still receiving them at the old email address that was entered. This would indicate that my settings are not being implemented somehow. Is there a file I can check?

That is very strange. When did you change the admin email? I'm thinking maybe the old value was cached and that's why it is showing one address and using another one.

I was wrong about the email address - didn't realize there were two different entries in the WAF. The META tag must have been cached somehow, too, because now it's working.
