Hi there,

I'm looking for a bit of direction and help in what I'm trying to achieve.

Upon user registration I want to geolocate their IP address and store the matching Country in the User database. I have developed a simple user plugin for this and everything is working fine, but just the translation from IP address to Country is missing.

Since I have an Admin Tools Pro subscription and I can see this translation is already being done by Admin Tools Pro I thought surely there is a method in any of the admin tool files I can call from my plugin to achieve this task.

I have been looking around the admin tools files but I didn't find any obvious way of achieving this.

I'd appreciate if you can put me in the right direction

Hello Daniel,

IP to Country conversion is performed by the Akeeba GeoIP plugin. You have to use that plugin to actually get the country name from an IP address.
