 Hello,

I would like to ask you.

After upgrading from previous version to the lates one, I have these problems:

1. I cannot set up CHANGE ADMINISTRATOR LOGIN DIRECTORY. Please have look at the screen.

Where do these options dissappear? Will you add them again?

2. Database table prefix editor

3. Change database collation

thank you

Hello Radek,

I'll quote from our release notes:
Joomla! 3.3 / 3.4 required. Support for older Joomla! versions has been dropped. As a result overall performance has improved.

Feature cleanup Several features which were only relevant in Joomla! 1.x / 2.x have been removed: Change Super User ID, Database Table Prefix Editor, Database Change Collation, Two Factor Authentication (we contributed a better version of this feature in Joomla! 3 itself!).

The Custom administrator directory feature was removed. This feature required some very specific server configuration to work. Unfortunately, most shared hosts didn't have it and couldn't enable it. Considering that this feature was offering little to no protection anyway we decided to remove it. You will get FAR BETTER enhancement of your site's security using the administrator secret URL parameter and administrator directory password protection of Admin Tools along with the Two Factor Authentication feature we have contributed to Joomla! itself. Enabling all three features and using different, strong passwords is adequate to deter all brute force login attacks far better than the custom administrator directory ever could.

Better IPv6 support. You can now define IPv6 CIDR ranger in black- and white-lists.

Hello Davide,

thank you for your answer. But I do not understand why those functions were removed - Database Table Prefix Editor, Database Change Collation. Because these 2 options can be usable in J3. But it is your decision. I used it in also J3.x.

You wrote Custom administrator directory feature was removed. But the sentence is still there - in the settings...

I do not understand it, I used it. And I do not want to use Two Factor Authentication because it is bothering. I do not have IPv6. Or I do not know about it. I have managed VPS on Nginx.

Please can you advice me how to set up this? administrator secret URL parameter

I do not understand it. Would it not cause me any problems when upgrade Joomla or any extensions?

The options is there, but the feature was removed: it's just a little typo inside the configuration, it will be fixed in the next release.
Please consult the documentation, section Administrator secret URL parameter for more info about setting it up.

Ok, thank you for your answer. But I do not like latest changes. I tried two factor and it is extremely bothering because I have few websites.

You're welcome!
I'm sorry but those features were inefficient and not reliable, that's why we removed them.
