After updating 2 site templates, multiple incorrect admin login attempts happened simultaneously? All attempts used "admin" as the username. Both sites tried the same 3 passwords???

This is too much of a coincidence for me to ignore.

Q: Why would a template update trigger this negative attention to my sites?

Q: Should I be doing something to help shield my sites from this issue?

Thanks for the great tool and any insight.

If the attempts are showing up in your Exceptions log, then they were not successful. Everything is working.

What defenses are you using for your back end login? If you are not using all three, you can implement more. But more layers means more hassle for you to log in too. The object is to find a balance. If the NSA wants to hack your website, nothing within your reach will stop it. They have billions to spend (of our money), we're outmatched. For a normal hacker, the object is to make it harder to crack your site than the next one in line. Make them move on to softer targets.
