 Hi Nicholas,

I hope you're well. I'm having some issues, I'm trying to set up RokBooster (by RocketTheme) to try and improve my sites performance. I'm doing it on a staging site which Siteground allows me to do, it is here: http://www.staging3.squareballoon.co.uk/

So far my attempts have failed, I've created a .htaccess file, and I've created an exception for:

Allow direct access, including .php files, to these directories

cache/rokbooster
cache/rokbooster/

Neither of these solves the problem and http://www.staging3.squareballoon.co.uk/cache/rokbooster/dad82217d7403e7bb8103bd3660e6b46.php comes up as 500 Internal Server Error

There are some others too, but they all follow the same pattern, that directory with a long string .php. I feel sure that it must be admin tools blocking these but so far I've struggled to resolve the issue.

Let's find out! You can check the Exceptions Log to see if anything is showing up there. Only the Web Application Firewall would show up in the log, anything blocked by the .htaccess file would not be there. You can easily disable the WAF temporarily with the instructions here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/atwafissues.html.

You can test the .htaccess file by renaming or deleting the current one and restoring the original file shipped with Joomla!. If RokBooster works then, the problem is in .htaccess Maker. The exception you added looks like it should be working.

Are you sure that long filename is legitimate?
