No, that's a problem with your Joomla! installation. Unfortunately, I am told that these known issues won't be fixed in Joomla! 2.5 :(

What happens when you click the orange button on that page? Does it reload the page? Or does it sit there? In the latter case the problem is a third party plugin which screws up Javascript on your site's back-end.

hi Nicholas,
clicking the orange button does nothing. Based on your guess, i think about ACL Manager and its magic feature "diagnosis" 100 conflicts of permissions, and 1 button to solve them all...
i'm gonna check their forum.
Thanks
Adrien

Also Nicholas please,

if I want to revert back to before i installed ACL Manager, all my restoration points and full backups are obsolete, whereas they are only 3 days old ... what's the meaning of this please ? how to use them ?

thanks
Adrien

Notes :
- my database version is :
Version de la base de données 5.1.73-1.1+squeeze+build0+1-log

- and i didnt move the backup folder as far as i know
- the backups are triggered by your CLI script

thx !

here is the answer of the nice guy of ACL Manager (Sander) :

I don't think ACL Manager or fixing the diagnostic issue is causing the issues. Most likely the 'permission' problem in akeeba is related to server file permissions (so the 755, 644, etc... permissions on files/folders). The permissions of ACL Manager are not about this type of permissions. So this is not related.

ACL Manager does add additional JavaScript, but only on the ACL Manager pages itself, so not on admin tools for example.

I suggest to look at the source code of the page where it is stuck, and see what scripts from 3rd party extensions are loaded over there.

what could i explore Nicholas in your opinion ? should i unpublish all plugins to find the culprit (tedious)... send you the source code of the page ?

thanks

I already told you: In the latter case the problem is a third party plugin which screws up Javascript on your site's back-end. Why don't you just try disabling plugins (especially "system" plugins) one by one to see which one is causing the issue?

Instead you went on a limp and made up a completely imaginary cause, ACL permissions, which is entirely different than what I suggested. Then you got Sander involved, asking him the wrong question based on your imaginary root cause. The poor man tried to reply as best as he could TO THE WRONG QUESTION.

Moreover you are asking me a completely different question, about a completely different product (Akeeba Backup) which is answered in its documentation. Then you are speculating that your question is a problem...

Sorry, I really cannot help you.
