 Hi,

After creating a new .htaccess file I'm experiencing a strange problem; I can still access the site & backend, but I can't access .htaccess maker itself anymore. What I can see is that "www." gets placed in front of the url, which is incorrect for this site (http://dev.teylingen-college.nl). I've renamed the .htaccess.admintools to .htaccess, but that changes nothing. Everything else seems to work, just not the .htaccess maker... I hope you can help.

Cheers,
Imke

Hello Imke,

please take a look at the Redirect www and non-www adresses option inside the Htaccess Maker.
What's the current option? Can you please try to set it to Redirect www to non-www or Do not redirect?

Hi Davide,

thanks for your reply. Seeing as my problem is actually that I can't get into .htaccess maker, I can't go in there to change the settings... ;-) The only thing I could do is manually edit the .htaccess file, so if you could tell me what line to look for and how to change it, that might be a solution.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Imke

So you can't access to the Htaccess maker page, only?
Please try to delete the .htaccess file that's in the root of your site and try to recreate it using the Htaccess Maker.
If you still can't access it after deleting the htaccess, most likely you should be looking for a SEF plugin, a bad cookie domain setting in configuration.php or a bad plugin doing some cray redirection. In any case: not happening due to .htaccess Maker as removing the .htaccess file (which is the ONLY thing the .htaccess Maker touches) doesn't have an effect.
