Actually, Akeeba Subscriptions does work. What throws the error message is the obsolete "Akeeba Subscriptions - Community Builder integration" plugin which has been removed from Akeeba Subscriptions 4.x per the development plan we announced on November 3rd, 2013. Its use with Akeeba Subscriptions 4.x is no longer supported. You will need to disable that plugin.
