I add an ip number to the block list but it doesn't seem to block that ip number. i check the .htaccess file and only two numbers have been added ...

i'd like to be able to add and know they are getting added ... is there something i must do

Hello Damian,

IP and IP blocking is performed by our PHP plugin, not by the .htaccess file.
Of course you can add them to it, but in this way we won't be able to track down how mean attacks you got.

If you add an ip and you can find it in the blacklist, then that ip will be blocked.

Hi Davide

Thanks for the reply, once I add an IP number on Site IP Blacklist and clear my cache, the user is still on the site commenting with the same IP address. I only get them off the site if I manually do a deny from in the .htaccess file.

Is there anything I have to do with the pugin?

How can you be sure about his IP address?
Can you please check if that IP is inside the whitelist?

By default the blacklist feature is turned off. Can you please double check if the option Disallow site access to IPs in Blacklist is set to Yes?
