Hi Nicholas,

I am having some problems on my sites that I applied the projecthoneybot.

when I go to google and type any url of these sites it comes up with the following.

www.mysite.ca/‎
Your IP address has been detected as emitting spam. It is possible that your computer is infected !?! Please be sure to use one of these free antivirus.

I have resubmitted sitemaps etc. But 5 days later and still not showing up anywhere in google, but yahoo and bing no problems.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did do searches but did not find anything, please let me know if you know how I can resolve this.

Thanks,

I do have a projecthoneypot account so I thought I would try it. Shortly after I disappeared from google.

Optional but highly recommended, go to http://www.projecthoneypot.org/httpbl_configure.php and open yourself a Project Honeypot account. After your registration, visit that URL again and you'll see something called "HTTP:BL key". Copy it and paste it into Admin Tools' Project Honeypot HTTP:BL Key field. Also set Project Honeypot HTTP:BL Key to Yes. Why? Project Honeypot analyses data from a vast number of sites and positively identifies IPs currently used by hackers and spammers. This Admin Tools feature integrates with Project Honeypot, examining your visitors' IP addresses. If they are in the black list (known hacker or spammer) they will be blocked from accessing Joomla!.

Optional, but highly recommended, enable the IP blocking of repeat offenders. This feature blocks IPs raising repeated security exceptions on your site, i.e. we have strong reasons to suspect they are hackers. Please note that you may not want to enable this feature until you are sure everything is working smoothly, so that you don't accidentally block yourself out of your site. If that does happen, please take a look at https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/atwafissues.html

This is not a support request for Admin Tools. Google does tell you what the problem is. You should follow their advice. Admin Tools and Project Honeypot are completely irrelevant to this issue.

Nicholas,

I don't see how to fix. Anyhow, I will continue to try and figure out.

Thanks,

Since I am missing a bit of the context (i.e. does the error message come from Google Chrome, your site or a site scanning service), I can understand two different things:

1. Your local computer, the one you are using to browse the web, is infected with malware which sends out spam. You should run an antivirus in your computer. If you share the connection with someone else or have multiple computers / devices, all computers / devices connected on that Internet connection should run up-to-date antivirus software.

2. Your server is used to send spam. Most likely you are on a shared hosting plan which means that your server and, by extent, its IP address are used by several sites. One of these sites is used to send spam. In this case you have to contact your host for further assistance.
