Joomla! version: (unknown) 3.1.1
PHP version: 5.5
MySQL version: 5.5.34
Host: AWS EC2
Admin Tools version: 2.5.8

Description of my issue: I seem to be missing the most important tool, .htaccess maker. Any ideas?

dlb
There is no change to .htaccess Maker in the 2.5.8 version, it should be there. How did you do your upgrade, through Live Update or did you download and install through Extension Manager? If the latter, are you sure you installed Pro and not Core? Is your subscription expired?

If none of the above, please try to reinstall Admin Tools without uninstalling the extension. If you uninstall, you will lose all your settings and history, we don't want that.

I updated using the Extensions install ( I did not install using the update feature). I just reinstalled and nothing, no .htaccess button. My account expires in January so yes I'm using the Pro version. Just confirmed - See Screenshot

OK, I'll have to ask Nicholas about it.

The .htaccess Maker only appears on servers which report themselves as being Apache. If your web server does not report itself as being Apache or if you are not using the Apache web server the .htaccess Maker is not shown at all. If you believe that this happens in error please try using the latest dev release from https://www.akeebabackup.com/download/developer-releases/admin-tools-professional.html The only difference of this dev release to the public version 2.5.8 is that the .htaccess Maker no longer checks the server technology and is displayed again for all users (even those running on web servers which ignore .htaccess files completely).

AHHH, ok. I am serving this site using nginx not apache. Do you know of any benefits or issues that may arise?

NginX does not understand .htaccess files. You cannot use the .htaccess Maker with NginX. I have written the equivalent configuration instructions for NginX but you a. have to understand what you are doing (no help is provided for this solutions) and b. you need to restart NginX every time you make a change in your NginX configuration. The master NginX configuration file can be found at https://github.com/nikosdion/master-htaccess/blob/master/joomla.nginx.conf
