The whole concept of the .htaccess Maker is that it isolates its users from the intricacies of .htaccess syntax. In my opinion being able to view the current .htaccess is about as useful as being able to see a realtime graph of your car engine's valve lead time, compression ratio and lambda sensor values. Yes, it's useful for the true geeks but it's frustrating and useless for most regular users. Just like you can plug a CAN bus monitor to your car's bus socket (predictably found under the ash tray) you can use your FTP software to peek into your .htaccess (predictably in your site's root).
So, in my opinion, this kind of feature you're asking is not a good idea. You can never underestimate the ability of regular people to screw up in the most spectacular ways given half the chance. I am pretty sure that they'd end up copying segments of a .htaccess Maker generated file into .htaccess Maker's custom directives areas, causing nothing sort of a mess out of their site. In the meantime, people like you and me can always use our FTP clients (or, in a whim, the control panel's file manager) to peek into the contents of the file.
