Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes, and I have updated Joomla before using this feature
Joomla! version: 2.5.14
PHP version: 5.3.27
MySQL version: 5.5.28-29.3-log
Host: http://essentialaudio.com/eadevbiz/
Admin Tools version: Professional 2.5.7

Description of my issue:
I received an email from the system indicating a new version of Admin Tools Pro was available. I clicked the link and it did its work. But now I see no "Joomla is up to date" on the admin control panel (it had been there up until this update), and I see that you have removed the Joomla core update from Admin Tools Pro.
Before the update I was probably going to upgrade my site (a dev site) to 3.1.5 which could have been done through Admin Tools, but now this option is no longer available, and the Joomla main site doesn't appear to offer such a migration. What do you recommend?

dlb
You are correct, the Joomla Core update has been removed from Admin Tools. The built-in Joomla! updater is the same code, written by Nicholas. The only differnece between the two was that you could trigger a backup from the AT version, you need to do that separately with the built-in version. It didn't make sense to maintain the code in two different places, so it was removed from Admin Tools.

The built-in updater is a tile on the Joomla! Control Panel.

Dale, thanks, but the built-in Joomla core updater tile on the admin control panel is now gone. Only the "All extensions are up-to-date" tile remains. Scratching my head about what happened.

dlb
Me too (scratching my head). I just updated one of my sites and I'm getting the same results as you. I'll ask Nicholas to take a look at it.

It's perfectly logical - once you know the answer. The previous icon was provided by an AT plugin, that plugin no longer exists, so the icon disappeared. We need to enable the native Joomla! plugin - "Quick Icon - Joomla! Update Notification" then the icon reappears, looking the same as it did before. :)
