Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? No pages appear relevant
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? No
Joomla! version: 3.1.5
PHP version: 5.3.26
MySQL version: 5.1.70-cll
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Admin Tools version: 3.1.5

Description of my issue:
Can't access most of the WAF pages. The log, the whitelists, the blacklists etc. all come up with the following message:
Fatal error: Call to a member function update() on a non-object in /home/[user]/public_html/libraries/joomla/table/table.php on line 531
The same happens for url redirection.

Please let us know which version of Admin Tools you are using. The version you are reporting is obviously a mistake. Without the version number I cannot help you.

Apologies, got the version numbers mixed up. I'm using Admin Tools version 2.5.6

This doesn't seem to be a problem with Admin Tools, but some problem coming from Joomla! itself. In fact, we don't even use JTable for anything since several releases ago. This leaves us with two possibilities:
  • At some point you had a failed update
  • You have a third party plugin which is screwing you up

I can only help with the first possibility. Start by removing the following directories:

libraries/fof
media/akeeba_strapper
plugins/system/admintools
plugins/system/atoolsupdatecheck
plugins/system/atoolsjupdatecheck
plugins/quickicon/atoolsjupdatecheck
administrator/components/com_admintools
components/com_admintools
media/com_admintools

Now install Admin Tools Professional on your site twice, without uninstalling it in between.

Hi,

Didn't think I had updated anything but that did the trick. I think somehow the fof library had messed up. I did a comparison of a clean install and the one that wasn't working and lots of files were missing or differed.

Here are a few examples:
diff --brief -r public_html joomla30
...
Files public_html/libraries/fof/less/formatter/compressed.php and joomla30/libraries/fof/less/formatter/compressed.php differ
Files public_html/libraries/fof/less/formatter/lessjs.php and joomla30/libraries/fof/less/formatter/lessjs.php differ
Files public_html/libraries/fof/less/less.php and joomla30/libraries/fof/less/less.php differ
Files public_html/libraries/fof/less/parser/parser.php and joomla30/libraries/fof/less/parser/parser.php differ
Only in joomla30/libraries/fof/model: behavior
Only in joomla30/libraries/fof/model: behavior.php
...

That was my best guess too :) You seemed to had stuck with FOF 1.x which did inherit from JTable but wasn't ever meant to support Joomla! 3.1. So I guess this ticket can now be closed?

It can indeed. I wonder how I managed to do that. I made a clean install of Admin tools. Maybe another plugin was using the FOF library somehow so an earlier version was installed.

Most likely it was an older component using the old FOF version. I'm glad we could resolve that issue! I'm now closing your ticket as you agree the issue is resolved.
