Description of my issue:

I have a weird issue in this site, accessing the /administrator area. It's a simple demo site with standard Admin Tools .htaccess.

When I try to access /administrator area, I get "Error: 404 - Article not found".

If I temporaly rename .htaccess, access the /administrator area, open the session, and restore the .htaccess; it works Ok.

I never have this issue in a site. Is this an Admin Tools issue? or a site configuration?

Let's make sure that the problem is indeed caused by Admin Tools. In order to do so, try the following:

Try to replicate the issue after disabling the "System - Admin Tools" plugin. If you can still replicate the issue, it is not caused by Admin Tools. Disabling that plugin means that Admin Tools code (including the Web Application Firewall) is not running on your site.

If you suspect an issue with the .htaccess file, replace its contents with the contents of the stock htaccess.txt file shipped with every version of Joomla!. Then, retry loading the problem page. If you can still reproduce the error, then it is not caused by .htaccess Maker.

If doing any of the above resulted in the issue still occurring, it's not related with Admin Tools and I can't help you.

I 've replaced /.htaccess with the stock htaccess.txt and disabled the "System - Admin Tools" plugin, but the problem is not there.

I've found that the problem is triggered with Password-protect Administrator. It generates the /administrator .htaccess and .htpasswd files. Both files are similar to files used in other sites .... very weird... the problem is only shown at Joomla level...

Anyway, it does not seem related with Admin Tools. Thanks,
