Mandatory information about my setup:

Joomla! version: 2.5.13
PHP version: 5.3.13
MySQL version: 5.1.56-log
Host: Dreamhost
Admin Tools version: 2.5.6

Description of my issue:

I am able to successfully add protected password for administrator login on some domains and not others.

The problem domains gives a 404 error. The only documention I could find did not mention this error for a solution.

I tried removing the Administrator secret URL parameter and it continues to take me to the 404 error.

I added exceptions for templates in the .htaccess

This is address in the 404 page /administrator/index.php?option=com_admintools

When removing the .htaccess and password file using ftp and refresh the above address works again. And a message reveals "Password protection successfully applied"

Any suggestion how I can get the remaining domains on the same server to work?

I would like some clarifications to understand this:

- Are you referring to the secret URL parameter or the administrator password protection?

- The only 404 error you get is when visiting Admin Tools' back-end page? No other page is affected?

- Can you give me a screenshot of the error, showing the URL bar as well?

I am referring to administrator password protection setup page, add user/passwords and click protect and it directs me to the template 404 error.

I could view the entire frontend but no longer can I go back to the administrator login without removing the .htaccess and password.

I do not get a 404 error using the secret URL parameter or any other functions in Admin Tools.

This error message doesn't make sense because it's what you (should) get in the front-end, not the back-end of the site. Unfortunately, I don't think I can help with it.

I deleted the .htaccess file and it worked without a problem.

I start turning off on item at a time and found the problem - Set default expiration time to 1 hour = NO
