Description of my issue:
I would like to do a php file scanner but without success. If I understand correctly, you need to make the temp file writable. So I went and changed the permissions to the temp file to 777. Then I uploaded a .htaccess file which included the two lines found in the guide under the temp folder with the help of FTP.
Then I am supposed to give permissions to this .htaccess file to 444. But when I go inside the temp folder in the Permissions configuration section, it is not there.
Do you know what I did wrong ?
I still tried to do a PHP file scanner and it said nothing to report, so I conclud that it did not work,
Thanks !

The .htaccess file and all files whose name starts with a dot are hidden in UNIX-like operating systems such as Linux, the operating system of choice in over 80% of servers. As a result your FTP client application will not show this file. Most FTP client applications have an option to show hidden files. You need to enable it in order to see the .htaccess file.

I discovered that you can change permissions in the File Manager in Cpanel, where you can see the hidden files. So I changed the permissions from there. But the scan still did not work. No files were scanned.
Is it OK to change the permisions from the File Manager ?
Is the .htaccess file not OK (I just created a file and inserted the two lines), do I need to take the one already on the site (with all the code) and insert the two lines ?
Or it is something else ?
When I read the instructions, it did not seem complicated, but I cannot see what I did wrong,
Thanks !

Please click on the blue Configure button in the PHP File Scanner page and set the following file types to scan (one on each line):
php
phps
php3
php5
inc

Make sure the minimum execution time is set to 1, maximum execution time set to 5 and runtime bias set to 75%. Then click on the Save & Close button. This will allow the PHP File Scanner to work correctly.
