#16492 Generator Meta Tag not working

Joomla! version: 3.03
PHP version: 5.4.15
MySQL version: 5.5.32
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Admin Tools version: 2.5.5

Description of my issue:

The Generator tag feature does not appear to be working. The "Hide/Customize Generator Meta Tag" option is set to Yes. There is a value for the new tag. But, the site continues to show the Joomla tag.

Am I missing something?

This feature is no longer working after Joomla! 2.5.10. The only thing you can do is go to your site's Global Configuration and set "Show Joomla! Version" to No.

It worked and was easy to implement by commenting out the lines.

Yes, modifying the core is a solution but please do remember that when you update Joomla! you'll have to redo this change manually.
