Description of my issue:
As of increasing brute force attacks to joomla websites I searched for more methods to slow down hackers attacks. And one feature I found out is a variable delay for failed login attempt. There exist a plugin in joomlas extension directory which supports such a feature. But I'd like to use admin tools and now my question is to add such a function. What do You think about?
Or does plugin Brute Force Stop form Bernhard Froehler works together with admin tools?

You can use the options in Admin Tools to treat failed logins as security exceptions and the automatic IP block. This will prevent access to your site by IPs which cause repeated login failures. It's MUCH more efficient than adding a delay.

That said, an unnecessarily beefy server can serve at most 30,000 login attempts per hour. Cracking an 8 character password will take from several days (if it's weak) to several hundred years at this rate. I'd guess that if the attacker was bringing a server to its knees like that you'd notice. If not you, your host would. So, the delay? Not really worth it.
