Description of my issue:

Hello,

I use the option in Admintools to combine Javascript files. Works well on my site but I discovered that the generated file is placed above all css files in my header. Preferably this file is placed beneath the css files or better, at the bottom of the page.

Is there a way to accomplish that?

Hope to hear soon.

Hans

Unfortunately no, that is not possible. It will try to replace the first Javascript tag with the combined Javascript and this sometimes does end up above CSS.

Hello Nicholas,

Thank you for your reply.. As for my understanding: it is somewhat unpredictable where the combined file is placed?

Do you think this will work together with other extensions which will place the Javascript on the bottom of the page?

Or shall this be a matter of trial and error?

Hans

Yes, where the combined files will end up is a bit random.

Normally it shouldn't work with extensions placing their Javascript at the bottom of the page. We only look in the document's head.

Please note that combining Javascript and CSS files is known to lead to errors due to the way browsers parse those files. You must experiment a lot before you can find a good set of settings which work.
