Description of my issue:

Hi Nikko!

Hope you are well.

This is not an "issue" as such. It is about the new graph and stats on intrusions. I am attaching the same from last night. I couldn't believe the spike. 121 attacks on April 19. I am a small non-commercial website with about 100 visitors per day. Can you tell me if this is typical or something unusual?

My settings for IP blocking were, before yesterday:
Block after 4 attacks in one minute; block for 7 minutes.

I increased this last night to block for 27 minutes.

Do you have any thoughts or recommendations?

Best,

Lowtech

That's normal. I have an excess of 2000 attempts to brute force the administrator username and password over the last month... on my blog. It's a tiny site. I mean, come on, admin/admin? On a blog which is mostly about Joomla! security? Yes, script kiddies are pesky but these attacks are easily fended off by Admin Tools.
