Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Couldn't find any related
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Couldn't find any related
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yep
Joomla! version: 2.5.9
PHP version: 5.3.20
MySQL version: 5.5.30-cll
Host: Cyberhost Pro
Admin Tools version: 2.5.3

Description of my issue:

I see Joomla recommend 3.0 as the Joomla for new websites (as is to be expected with their release dates). Admin tools however, recommends 2.5 still. Is there a reason for this? It seems that I should be able to update this now on a test server?

Would you agree that this is a sensible move or advise against it?

Joomla!'s recommendation is misleading. 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2 will be supported for exactly 6 months each. They are experimental releases. If you want to be a guinea pig you are free to do so, but please note that many Joomla! extensions don't support these new releases or take a long time to support them. Also remember that upgrading from 2.5 to 3.x is a mostly one-click process, whereas downgrading from 3.x to 2.5 is nigh impossible.

So, to make things clear: only use the x.5 releases on live sites. These are the really stable releases. All the other Joomla! releases are experimental.

Thanks, that is good information. I thought I read that somewhere before but I'd rather have your expert opinion.

Also I would rate your English as above good.

Thanks for the expert support as always.
