Joomla! version: 2.5.8
PHP version: 5.3.16
MySQL version: 5.1.68-cll
Host: xxlwebhosting.nl
Admin Tools version: trying 2.5.3 from 2.4.4

Description of my issue:
I tried tu update admin tools and get this error: -1 - An error has occurred.
This is not the first time and than i cannot acces admin tools.

I know that the problem solves to clean temp and permissions. But now i cannot use admin tools because i faild on update i think.

I had this problem already a few times and with different installations of components. After a permissions and clean temp with admin tools it works.
If i forget to clean and make permissions and install Admin tools i always brought the backup back but that not nice to do.

I asked somebody who never used Admin tools never saw this problem so i think admin tools create this?

Thanks already!

No, this is actually an ownership and permissions issue. Please consult the following page for proper troubleshooting information on the tmp directory and enabling Joomla!'s FTP layer: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/abinstallation.html

Thanks for your reply,

When i uninstalled all Admin tools with the manage extension functions and installed it it worked.
So it was easyer than i thought.

Is that still an owner permission problem than? I cannot write over admin tools stuff?

Yes, it's an ownership and permissions issue. If you reinstall Admin Tools after removing it you should now be able to install it without a problem.
