Description of my issue:

I have just upgraded to joomla 2.5.9 and installed the upgrade for akeeba backup. Noq I cannot open the admin componente any more. Error message is: this might be caused by the cookies disabled but that is not true. The website is protected by the admin password protect. Iam afraid that I will not be able to enter the backoffice anymore after logging out now. Van I just unistall admin toosl with password protect enabled without loosing the accessibility?

Please make sure that your PHP memory limit is set adequately high. A value of 64M should be enough. Also make sure that your PHP version is 5.3.1 or later.

The PHP version of this website is now 5.3.10 and the PHP memory limit was already 64 mb. I also changed the post_max_size to 64 mb because of an error message I got in the extensionmanager.

Th admin component will still not open. I get the following message (translated from dutch):

'Firefox has established that the server forwards the request for this adress in such a way that it will never end'.

second message: 'this can in some rare cases being caused by cookies turned off or being refused'.

But cookies are enabled in my browser!

 

Problem stil exists! any more suggestions?

OK, it would have helped if you would have given me the correct Admin Tools version. 3.7.0 is not a valid version (unless you're Dr. Who ;)). Most likely you meant 2.5.0. This issue was fixed in 2.5.1, released a few hours after 2.5.0. Would you mind please upgrading to Admin Tools Professional 2.5.1? This time it will work just fine.

I made a typing mistake earlier, it was version 2.5.1

Now I reinstalled this version and it works fine because I could not figure out what to do else so I just tried. Thanks for the support.
