Joomla! update/upgrade issues with Admin Tools

Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? No
Joomla! version: 2.5.8
PHP version: 5.3.3-7+squeeze14
MySQL version: 5.1.66-0+squeeze1
Host: Linode
Admin Tools version: 2.4.4

Description of my issue:

Unable to perform Joomla update. The error message is "Error: AJAX Loading Error:"

I've deleted the tmp directory as suggested with no effect.

I've also reinstalled admin tools without effect

I have several other sites on the same hoas where everthing works as expected.

I suspect a permissions problem but everything looks ok in this regards.

You will have to upgrade Joomla! manually, using the Joomla! Upgrade component.
