Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? yes
Joomla! version: 2.5.9
PHP version: 5.3x
MySQL version: 5.1x
Host: various
Admin Tools version: 2.4.4

Description of my issue:

Older versions of the php file scanner (that I have) seem to work fine.

this new 2.4.4 version of admin tools professional, the file change scanner appears to scan the files, however when done, no report is generated.  no rows are addedd to the database for files to scan.  a record is added to the file change scanner page reporting that 0 files scanned and no report generated.

I've removed custom .htaccess and checked php settings/modules for compatibility and it should work, but doesn't.

tried using different versions of firefox for the scan as well.. no change.. no report generated.

this appears to be 2.4.4 specific.

Please advise as this is a main tool that was desired when making the purchase of admin tools pro.

Thanks and regards,

HW

Missed post about this for older version in the forum..

it appears that the file change scanner configuration ends up blank.

adding files to scan and changing the min and max execution times seems to make it work again.

what is strange is I checked the configuration prior to the first scan and filetypes were listed.

php
phps
php3
inc

with min execution to 1sec and max execution to 5sec

why the configuration went blank, I dont' know.

resetting the configuration appears to get it working again.

might want to check as to why this goes blank, or perhaps make sure the installation sql fields for the config for this are prefilled on install, if not already...

hope this info helps for new versions.

HW

Hi Heath,

I think the problem has to do with broken configuration options. Please go to the PHP File Change Scanner and click on the blue Configure button. Set the following for "File types to be scanned":

php
phps
php3
inc

Lowercase, no trailing dot, one item per line. I would also suggest the following settings:

  • Minimum execution time: 1 second
  • Maximum execution time: 5 seconds
  • Runtime bias: 75%

I see that you posted before me :) Yes, you got it right. The blanking of options happened due to a bug in earlier versions of Admin Tools. They would blank the settings and always the default values we had hardcoded. I fixed both, but you have to re-enter the configuration manually.
