Description of my issue:

Warning

JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file

Message

Invalid package type. The update can not proceed.

It is written on a support : Please copy this ID and paste it to your Component Parameters page (Akeeba Backup) or Parameters/Options page (Admin Tools), in the "Download ID" text box.
This is the Download ID required for enabling the automatic updates of Akeeba Backup Professional and Admin Tools Professional

I did it.

on ticket  #15040 – Download ID, it is written :

" Click on the button next to the Joomla! update status one (the second on the topmost row in the main control panel area). Depending on your update status it may read "Up to date", "UPDATE FOUND" or "Live Update is not supported". No matter what it reads, click on it. On the new page, please click on the "Refresh update information" button. "

What do you mean by : click on it. what is "it"

It doesn't work. I cannot do it, or anything else. Please can you help me ?

What do you mean you cannot do it? You cannot click on the "UPDATE FOUND" button? Do you get an error message? If so, what is it?

As I've written in my instructions, you have to press the "Rafraîchir les infomrations de mise à jour" button on this page. You will then see that the "URL de téléchargement directe" will change and ?dlid=yourdownloadid will be appended to it, where yourdownloadid is yoru Download ID provided that you entered it correctly. If you follow the instructions down to the letter you can't go wrong.

There is again the message : a new version is available, but on the first page of Joomla! we can see : Backup is up to date

On the control panel of akeeba, there is the button "up to date available, clic to update :

This is absolutely correct.

The button in the Joomla! control panel tells you that the backup of your site is up to date.

The button in Akeeba Backup's control panel tells you that the component itself is out of date.

These are two completely different things. Why did you get confused? :)

Excuse me please,

No problem with "the backup of my site is up to date"

But can you see these three images : It says that the update is successfull, but it is still to be made.

Sorry,

First, I clic on update new version, and it says "update was successfull".

But, two seconds after it says : impossible to find an XML initialisation file

and type of package is not valid. Update cannot be executed.

This is contradictory.

For the third time in this ticket I will say the same thing:

Is something in the above paragraph not clear to you?  I will try to explain this in French. Please excuse my very bad French, but I think it's much better than trying to say this in English.

  • Assurez-vous que vous avez entré le Download ID correcte selon notre page d'instructions.
  • Cliquer sur le bouton «Mise à jour disponible» sur la page Akeeba Backup Control Panel.
  • Dans la nouvelle page cliquez s.v.p. le bouton "Rafraîchir les infomrations de mise à jour". C'est trop important! Si vous n'appuyez pas sur ce bouton, la mise à jour ne fonctionnera pas!!!
  • Après tout cela, cliquez sur le bouton "Mettre à jour vers la dernière version"

Si vous avez entré le Download ID correcte dans la page des options du composant la mise à jour sera fonctionne sans aucune de probléme.

I click on "rafraichir les mises à jour" and nothing happens.

Then I click on "url de téléchargement direct" and a new file is on my computer.

Shall I use it now ?

It's all right now, doing " gestion des extensions, installations.
